The annual business meeting for Adventist Event Planners will be held during the RCMA Conference in Minneapolis, MN, on Tuesday, January 29 at 5:30pm in the convention center room 101. Our first order of business will be to vote in new officers and the ballot is listed below for your review. Information on the nominees follows. Thank you for taking time in advance to prepare for your vote. If you will not be able to attend RCMA, please submit your ballot visiting http://www.aepa.co/article/70/contact-us/aepa-election-ballot-2013 by Tuesday, January 29 at 4 p.m. so it can be included in the final tally. Meet the AEPA Candidates
Vern Byrd
Operations Director, Center for Youth Evangelism, Andrews University
AEPA member since 2007

Vern Byrd started his ministry in summer camps with the North Carolina Conference as a student worker and continued to serve throughout the North American Division for over 13 years. In addition to his current responsibilities, Vern is part of the team that plans the Pathfinder Camporee held in Oshkosh, WI. He is a primary planner for short-term mission trips thru out the islands of Central America and works part-time as an Engineer/EMT for a Fire Department in South Bend, Indiana. Vern is married to the wonderful and patient Patty Byrd and have been blessed with two girls, Brittney and Katie, and 1 cat.
 
Stacia D. Wright
CEO, B. Reel Media Management, LLC
AEPA Member since 2006

As, owner of B.Reel Media Management, LLC she has had a variety of experience and responsibilities when it comes to the production and organization of projects as it relates to media, marketing and managing resources and events.
Through her company, she has overseen a variety of events like the 2005 DC Gospel Fest, the 2008 US Dream Academy Gala fundraiser, where 1.9 million dollars was raised and most recently event planner and producer of the 35th Annual UNCF Gala for Oakwood University, as well as various musical shows and productions. She has also managed a variety of celebrity and independent clients including the motivational speaking career of vocal artist, Joey Kibble from the multi-Grammy award winning group Take 6.
Her experience includes being co-founding creator of the annual international SONscreen Film Festival of which she served as Producer for 8 years through 2010. During that time she also served as Project and Event Coordinator for VERVENT CRC formally Adventist Communication Network at the North American Division of the Seventh-day Adventist World Church for 10 years.
Her life experiences extend from her native roots in Huntsville, AL to residence in southern California and study abroad. Presently she resides with her husband, Herbert Marcel Wright and their son Jonathan in the Washington DC Metropolitan area.
 
Lindsay Widicker
Independent Meeting Planner, Former meeting planner for Adventist Meetings and AdventSource
AEPA Member since 2006

Lindsay has over 3 years of meeting planning experience within the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Most recently she worked as the meeting planner for Adventist Meetings and AdventSource. Her responsibilities included working closing with church administration to plan and execute meetings. She graduated in 2011 from the University of Nebraska with degrees in Marketing and Management.
Lindsay currently lives in Lincoln, Ne with her husband, Hans and son, Wyatt. They are preparing to move to North Dakota where Hans will farm. 
 
Gary Crockett
CIO and Managing Director, Branae Holdings
AEPA Member since 2009

In the Meeting Planning environment Gary has Coordinated meetings and events since 1989.  He has Coordinated concerts in the area of Gospel, Jazz, and classical quartets since 1991 for various, corporate, religious, church and military organizations.  He has planned meetings from as small as 25 to as many as 50,000 in industries such as federal agencies, software, technology, and religious groups.
He brings his technology skill set as a key value add to meeting planning and production. Currently he serves as CIO and Managing Director at Branae Holdings. His client base covers a wide variety of organizations including technology, wireless, RFID, healthcare, education, retail, manufacturing, government, research, biotechnology and insurance.
Gary also has Management experience, which includes Project Management skills: Managed and led projects that include teams of Technical Staff, Users, and Vendors on assigned projects. Directed the functional and technical teams through the system life cycle.  Developed and maintained strong business partnerships.  Managed the interviewing, selecting, and performance appraising of development as well as implementation team personnel. Conducted proposal development, project planning/management, risk management, issue identification, resolution management, and budget planning/management. Utilized “Best Practices” via Software Engineering Institute (SEI), CMMI level 5, Department of Defense, Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK), and etc. for the life cycle of Enterprise Relationship Planning, and E-Business packages.  Led corporate teams through the Change Management processes to ensure a competitive and efficient organization. His Interpersonal skills include working well independently or as part of a team effort. He has prepared to fill a demanding position. Gary is familiar with and will ensure Total Quality Management initiatives, and will provide excellent writing and interpersonal skills.
 
Natasha Richards
CEO, NATSEL Management
AEPA Member since 2012

Natasha Richards was born with numerous talents.  As a little girl growing up in Corona SDA Church in Corona, New York, Natasha was surrounded with a musically talented family.  She began in the children’s choir and at an early age music became very important to her. After graduating from Flatbush Elementary SDA School, she then entered Midwood High School in Brooklyn, NY, were her talents become an even greater part of her life.  At 14 years of age Natasha was a member of Midwood High School Gospel Chorus, Goshen Temple Youth Choir, Shiloh SDA Youth Choir, and Emmaus SDA Youth Choir.  Along with this busy schedule she started her business track study, which allowed her to begin developing the skills of organization, marketing and advertising. 
Since that time Natasha has also worked in various Christian event and organizations, where she continued to cultivate her talents and passion for Christ.  Natasha currently attends Patmos Chapel Worship Center, where is a Worship Coordinator under the Technology Ministries Department.
 Natasha’s dream is to work with clients who are devoted to Christ and who will use their talents for the ministry of Christ. Natasha loves working behind the scenes of music.  For the past decade she has worked for artists, pastors and speakers. Using this experience she has written a devotional book "31 Days of Prayer & Fasting: A Journal for Ministers of Music. “It takes many aspects to prepare clients, but God must be in all plans for that moment of ministry.”
 
Bryant Taylor
Communication Director, Allegheny West Conference and Pastor of the Beacon of Hope Church
AEPA Member Since 2010

Bryant Taylor, a native of St. Louis, Missouri, is the product of Christian Education, 4th grade through Doctorate.
He is a graduate of Oakwood University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology & Psychology. He received his Masters of Divinity degree from Andrews University Theological Seminary in 1994. In 2003, the United Theological Seminary, Dayton, Ohio, conferred the Doctor of Ministry degree upon him.
He has served in the Seventh-Day Adventist Gospel Ministry for 25 years in the Central States, Ohio & Allegheny West Conferences. In addition to his conference & pastoral assignments, he remains passionate about technology; he is the co-host of Tech Talk, a monthly internet show on technology. He loves reading, cycling and photography.
Bryant is currently the Communication Director of the Allegheny West Conference and pastor of the Beacon of Hope Church in Columbus, Ohio.
Bryant says of his passion for technology, “if it has an on off button, I either have it, want it or on my way to purchase it.” Known as the gadget guru Bryant brings technology to ministry.
He has been married to Tara for 22 years.
